SuperMailOS vs Google Workspace

Pay for people, not per-user seats.Google Workspace is the default for good reasons: Gmail’s inbox and the whole office suite. This isn’t here to pretend that gravity away — it’s here to show the alias math and what an email-first, per-mailbox alternative actually trades.

The short answer

Choose Google Workspace ifYour team lives in Docs, Drive and Meet. Recreating that stack costs more than the subscription saves.
Choose SuperMailOS ifYou run many domains and role addresses, and whether your mail lands matters to revenue.

02 Honestly

Where Google Workspace is the better choice.

If any of these describe you, Google Workspace is probably the right call — and that's fine.

01

The suite is real

Docs, Drive, Meet and Calendar share one identity. If your team lives there, recreating that stack costs more than the subscription saves.

02

Gmail's inbox

Years of filtering, search and spam-model polish — and everyone already knows how to use it.

03

Deliverability by default

Google's sending reputation is about as good as shared infrastructure gets.

And where SuperMailOS is

01

Alias economics

On Workspace, a support@ that a human reads means a licensed user. Here, unlimited aliases are free on every domain — you pay for people.

02

Multi-domain as the product

Agencies and multi-product founders get every domain in one inbox with per-domain authentication and DMARC visibility — not secondary-domain bookkeeping.

03

Price per human

For email-only needs, $4 a mailbox beats paying for suites nobody on that seat will open.

04

Deliverability operated

SPF/DKIM/DMARC from the mail server's own zone, DMARC reports parsed into a dashboard, warm-up and IP reputation managed — instead of admin-console archaeology.

Which one fits you

Team embedded in Docs and Meet: stay on Workspace, honestly. Email-heavy operation — many domains, many role addresses, and deliverability that matters to revenue: that’s SuperMailOS territory. Plenty of teams run us for mail and free tools for the rest.

SuperMailOS is hosted business email: we run the mail server, the sending IPs and the deliverability work, so there's nothing to self-host and no server to keep alive.

03 Price

What it costs
at your team size.

Per mailbox against per user, both billed yearly. Aliases never count on our side, so hello@ and support@ add nothing.

05 Questions

Questions people ask.

Something else? Write to us — a real person answers, usually the same day.

Can I keep using Gmail's interface?+
Via IMAP, yes — SuperMailOS provides standard IMAP/SMTP, so Gmail, Apple Mail or Outlook all work. Your deliverability runs on our managed infrastructure regardless of the client you choose.
Will moving hurt my deliverability?+
Authentication is provisioned from the mail server's own zone during setup, and warm-up is part of the managed service — the common self-migrated mistakes are handled for you.
Do you replace Docs, Drive and Meet?+
No. Many customers run SuperMailOS for mail and free tools for the rest — that math usually favours us once aliases multiply.
How does pricing compare?+
Google Workspace bills per user: Business Starter is $7 a user a month on the Annual Plan or $8.40 on the Flexible Plan (Google's billing help page, checked 14 Oct 2026). SuperMailOS is per mailbox — Pro $4/mo, Business $6/mo — with unlimited free aliases, so you pay for people, not addresses.
Does Google Workspace charge per domain?+
Google prices Workspace per user; its billing pages list no per-domain charge. Secondary domains sit in the same Workspace, and each user can have up to 30 email aliases at no extra cost, including on a secondary domain. Past 30, Google says you need another Google account, which on Workspace is another user to pay for. On SuperMailOS, aliases are unlimited on every domain.
