02 Honestly

Where Zoho Mail is the better choice.

If any of these describe you, Zoho Mail is probably the right call — and that's fine.

01

It's a whole suite

Mail plus CRM, docs and a big ecosystem under one login. If you want a single vendor for many tools, Zoho is genuinely compelling.

02

A free plan and low per-user prices

Forever Free covers up to 5 users on one domain at no cost, and the Mail-only plans are priced per user. On price alone, Zoho usually wins.

03

Mature admin & controls

Years of admin tooling, policies and integrations that a focused newcomer simply hasn't had time to accumulate.

And where SuperMailOS is

01

Aliases are free and unlimited

Every role address — hello@, support@, billing@ — is a free alias on every domain, not another seat or a per-user cap.

02

Deliverability operated, not documented

Instead of pasting SPF, DKIM and DMARC into your DNS and hoping, we generate them from the mail server's own zone, verify them live before you can send, warm up new domains and parse DMARC into a dashboard.

03

Every domain, one inbox

Built for several domains converging into one place, each independently authenticated. Business covers unlimited domains on a single bill.

04

No suite you won't open

Email done well, without paying per user for apps a mail-only seat never touches.

Which one fits you

If you want an inexpensive all-in-one suite and you’re comfortable maintaining your own email authentication, Zoho is a strong, honest choice. If email itself is the point — many domains, many role addresses, and deliverability you’d rather not operate — SuperMailOS is the tighter fit.

SuperMailOS is hosted business email: we run the mail server, the sending IPs and the deliverability work, so there's nothing to self-host and no server to keep alive.

01

Point your domain

One click on Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Linode, Vultr, Hetzner DNS and Spaceship. Anywhere else, we show you exactly what to paste.

02

Create your addresses

A mailbox for each person, and free aliases for everything else — hello@, billing@, support@.

03

Keep your apps

Use the web app, or Apple Mail, Outlook and Thunderbird over IMAP.

Does Zoho Mail include IMAP/SMTP?+
Not on its Forever Free plan: Zoho's pricing page says "IMAP/ POP/ Active Sync not included" there (checked 14 Oct 2026). SuperMailOS includes IMAP (993, SSL) and SMTP (465, SSL) on every plan.
Who sets up SPF, DKIM and DMARC on Zoho?+
You do: Zoho gives you the records to publish in your own DNS, and you maintain them. SuperMailOS generates them from the mail server's own zone, verifies them live before you can send, and monitors them afterwards.
Are aliases free on Zoho?+
Zoho supports email aliases (more addresses delivering into one mailbox) and domain aliases; its pricing page doesn't state a per-user limit. On SuperMailOS, aliases are unlimited and free on every domain and every plan — you pay only for real mailboxes.
Can I move my Zoho Mail accounts over?+
Yes. Add your domains and verify DNS (one-click on Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Linode, Vultr, Hetzner DNS and Spaceship, guided copy-paste elsewhere), create the mailboxes, copy your mail across over IMAP, and only then point MX at us. The migration guide walks through the order.
Do you have a free plan like Zoho's?+
We offer a 14-day trial of the full product with no card required, rather than a long-term free tier. Paid plans are priced per mailbox with everything unlocked.
Can I run several domains?+
Zoho's Forever Free plan covers 1 domain; domain aliases map another domain onto an existing one, and every user on a paid plan is billed per user. SuperMailOS is built around several domains: Pro covers up to 3, Business is unlimited, and every domain lands in one inbox on one bill.
Is Zoho Mail cheaper than SuperMailOS?+
On price alone, usually yes: the Forever Free plan costs nothing for up to 5 users on one domain, and Zoho's Mail-only plans are priced per user, billed annually (no monthly plan on the Mail-only plans). Zoho's page showed us regional prices, so we don't quote a US-dollar figure we couldn't check. SuperMailOS is Pro $4 a mailbox a month ($3 billed yearly), with aliases free.
